This is best app I ever had. Very complete dictionary with lots of additional information (verb conjugation hiragana, romanji etc.).

I Love the App. It Works well and i had right now all found what i had looking for!! It help me very much to communicate with my Japanese friend!!! It would be great if you would have this App also for iMac computer!!??

Ive been learning Japanese for a couple of years, and Imiwa brings invaluable help. Plus its nice it use and has more than enough features. Highly recommended for anyone learning Japanese, or who needs a Japanese dictionary.

This app crashes every time I try to export a list via TSV, please try to fix this.

This dictionary is absolutely great and there is no question about it. My only gripe is that it is over 700 MB in terms of size, which is a bit much for a dictionary and a bit of an issue on 16 GB phones. An option to trim down whatever is taking up all the space would be great.

Extremely well designed app! Has every feature you could possibly need: not only a dictionary ( even with a conjugation table for every verb you look up), but also a link to the including kanji with stroke order, on-/kunyomi, and words including the same kanji. They even mention, of the word is used in kanji or mostly written in kana!! The first time I used it, it was a little difficult, because they provide so much information about the word, but you get used to that very quickly. I am extremely glad that I found this app I hate buying apps, but even IF this would have cost sth, it would have been so worth it.

There seems to be issues regarding ios5. Search results do not show up and other navigational issues are abound. Otherwise this app is perfect.

This is a very handy dictionary. Really helpful when doing my Japanese homework. But the recent update enables the landscape mode, can you please add an option to lock to screen? I find landscape mode not very convenient.

Kotoba is the best app of its kind out there. And it is .... FREE! It doesnt get much better than this. This app is NOT perfect and here are some reasons why: - huge file size (557 MB once installed) - slightly awkward kanji search functionality But you should still get it because: - It is FREE - It is user friendly - It is comprehensive (the big file size is there for a reason) - Has tons of example sentences (often overlooked in dictionaries) - It is very structured (easy to locate information) Compared some of the PAID super professional dictionaries like Daijirin / Daijisen, Kotoba defines the words in ENGLISH and not Japanese as in those professional apps. Thanks go to all the developers behind Kotoba. I really like this app :)

Not only does this app have an amazing amount of data OFFLINE, it offers it in a very easy interface... for free. This app surprised me in that, unlike nearly every other japanese app, it doesnt make the faintest attempt to swindle you. I have found the fact that it provides conjugations invaluable, and I especially like how you can switch between polite and casual conjugations with the press of a button. It also has the wonderful kanji decomposition option, allowing you to understand the meanings associated with a word. By far the most invaluable, and commonly overlooked, feature is its search function. It can look up words by meaning, reading and even more useful, conjugations. If the search function isnt something you need in your studies, it gives a very useful list of kyoikou and jouyou kanji by grade. With anki, you have a set of two invaluable language learning apps.

Absolutely essential for any student of Japanese. Im so impressed with this app

This is by far the best Japanese/English Dictionary app Ive come across. Ive never tried used a paid one before, because Kotoba! has everything I need. Kotoba! has most terms and words youd need, and searching in both English and Japanese is easy. It shows stroke order, all the pronounciations, meanings, and even how to read in Chinese. Kanji is easy to search up, as I know little Kanji. You can search by stroke order, Chinese bushu, write it in with the traditional Chinese keyboard, Japanese grade expectations, and more. Conjugating is made easy as well, and its really nice how it shows formal and casual. The file size for the app is rather large, but certainly worth it for the amount of content it has. Also, at first, the amount of content may be overwhelming and hard to navigate. Itll soon become very easy to use though. If youre learning Japanese, this is a must-have!

This app is truly amazing! It helped me with all my exams! Im moving on to Japanese level 4! Arigatou kotoba! ^^V
